The dynamos at Oxford City Council have finally got round to their amnesty for illegal sub-letters. Readers may recall that Barnet ran theirs in October 2013. Oxford announced in June that their amnesty would run from August. In fact it started yesterday, so they missed even that deadline.
Oxford City Council tells us that more than 54 allegations of sub-letting are also being investigated at the moment and, since November 2011, 282 cases have been opened. We know 50 homes have been reclaimed in the last three years, so that's not a high strike rate.
